Piping Systems

Ocean Legacy Marine Engineering (OLME) specialises in the Mechanical Installation of Stainless and Carbon Steel Piping Systems, for various industry sectors.

Our piping installations conform to ASME B31.3 (Process Piping Guide) guidelines and prescribed quality standards as mandated by various industry sectors. All pressure systems conform to SANS 347 (Pressure Equipment Regulation) Hazard Categorization and include all legal documentation requirements.

We utilise manual GTAW and GMAW Welding techniques depending on installation specifications and offer fully documented and validated Piping Systems. All welding works are performed by qualified and trained personnel with appropriate industry certification according to approved procedures and specifications.

Carbon Steel Piping Solutions include Low Pressure/Temperature (Medium Weight) and High Pressure/Temperature (Schedule) systems.

Our Mild Steel Piping reticulations are generally utilised to transfer the following liquids:

Medium Weight - Low Pressure/Temperature

  • Municipal Water Distribution
  • Water Treatment Plant Distribution (Carbon/Sand Filtration, etc.)
  • Compressed Air

Schedule – High Pressure/Temperature

  • High Pressure Water Reticulation
  • Water Treatment Plant Distribution (Carbon/Sand Filtration, etc.)
  • Industrial Steam Distribution
  • Oil/Fuel Transfer Piping

Stainless Steel Piping Solutions include Low Pressure/Temperature (Dairy Thin Walled Members) and High Pressure/Temperature (Schedule Members) systems. Solutions include Stainless Steel materials within the Austenitic and Duplex groups.

We are fully conversant with the following Stainless Steel material specifications with existing Welding Procedure Specifications and Qualifications:

  • Stainless Steel 304L
  • Stainless Steel 316L
  • Stainless Steel Duplex 2205
  • Stainless Steel Duplex 2507

Our Stainless Steel Piping reticulations are generally utilised to transfer the following liquids:

Dairy - Thin Walled Members

  • Municipal Water Distribution
  • Water Treatment Plant Distribution (Reverse Osmosis, Carbon/Sand Filtration, etc.)
  • Product Piping (Human Consumption) – Beverage and Dairy Industry

Schedule - High Pressure/Temperature

  • High Pressure Water Reticulation
  • Water Treatment Plant Distribution (Reverse Osmosis, Carbon/Sand Filtration, etc.)
  • Pure Steam Distribution

We also offer Stainless Steel Hygienic Piping Solutions confirming to Pharmaceutical Standards. Hygienic Piping installations are recommended within the Pharmaceutical Industry and all product transfer installations within the Food and Beverage Industry.

Installations are fully documented and validated prior to commissioning and includes the following information as minimum within a Validation/Data Pack:
